How pipe bursting works

Pipe bursting pulls a new pipe through the path of the old one while a bursting head breaks the old pipe outward into the surrounding soil. You get a complete, brand-new sewer line from the house to the main, installed through two small access points instead of a long open trench.

For lines that can't be lined

If your old cast iron or clay line has collapsed, badly deteriorated, or shifted out of alignment, lining is not an option, but bursting is. It fully replaces the pipe with new material rated to last for decades, and it can even upsize the line if needed.
